We were recently called back to a job after fitting a new boiler pump, with the customer reporting a water leak. On inspection, we found that none of the joints we’d worked on were leaking — the issue stemmed from a male iron to copper joint on the heat store that had started leaking after we disturbed it during the initial works.
Now, technically, this wasn’t our leak — but we didn’t want to go down that road.
Why?
Because the customer was lovely, paid promptly, and left us a fantastic review. That kind of trust and appreciation deserves to be met with equal respect.
So, we drained the heating system, removed and remade the fitting, and got everything sealed back up. We also noticed a leaking manual air vent — and replaced it with an automatic one from the van, completely free of charge.
While we were there, we spotted a slight weep on the domestic plate heat exchanger, which we tightened too.
The system was refilled, tested, and signed off ✅
